Colman Domingo isn’t losing any “Tears” over the backlash to his role in Sabrina Carpenter’s latest music video.

The Emmy-winning actor shows up in drag for the campy clip, which seems to draw inspiration from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. While Domingo and Carpenter clearly had fun with the playful concept, not everyone has been on board.

Responding to critics online, Domingo kept his cool:
“It’s a character. Like all the characters I play. Calm down, brother. Enjoy the video and the fun that it possesses,” he wrote. “Dance it out! It ain’t that deep. ‘We are born naked and everything else is drag.’ Suits, T-shirts, dresses— all drag. 😂👍🏾🙏🏽”
