ISLAMABAD – In a significant breakthrough, police have arrested the murderer of popular TikToker Sana Yousaf using CCTV footage and advanced technical tools, officials confirmed.
The arrest was made during a late-night operation, with the suspect reportedly having ties to Punjab. According to sources, the accused had known the victim previously, suggesting a personal connection between the two.
Personal Grudge Behind the Crime
Investigators believe a personal grudge was the motive behind the brutal killing. During the investigation, authorities also recovered the murder weapon from the suspect’s possession, strengthening the case.
Police say that surveillance footage from the crime scene and other locations was key in tracking the suspect’s movements before and after the incident. “The detailed analysis of CCTV footage played a critical role in identifying and apprehending the killer,” a police official stated.
Body Sent to Hometown in Chitral
Sana Yousaf’s body has been transported to her hometown in Upper Chitral for burial. The young TikToker was found dead in her residence in Sector G-13, Islamabad, on Monday.
Following the murder, Islamabad Police launched a wide-ranging investigation, gathering footage from G-13 security cameras as well as Safe City cameras along the Expressway.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Sumbal Police Station based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother. Initially, the FIR was lodged against an unknown individual, but swift investigative efforts have led to the identification and arrest of the accused.
